Bernard Quinn, MBAAcademic Dean and Chair of Academic Board
Academic Dean, Chair of Academic Board, and a member of HTMi International Development Group. He is a former Hotel General Manager who spent almost 30 years in hospitality frontline operations. He subsequently went on to be a senior lecturer and Director of Transnational Partnerships at Queen Margaret University, UK and worked for many years in South East Asia and several European cities. His current research considers the challenges facing those delivering collaborative international education. He is passionate about the student experience and engagement and the development of educators. He is the author of many research articles in various hospitality industry topics.
Andrew Chiew, MBAAcademic and Quality Assurance Manager
Andrew is Academic and Quality Assurance Manager and a member of the Academic Board for HTMi (Singapore). He has an MBA in International Business. He has extensive teaching experience in Singapore and Malaysia and has taught on a number of undergraduate programmes. He teaches finance modules on the International Hotel and Tourism Management Diploma and Advanced Diploma.
Nishant Suri, MScHospitality Training Manager
Nishant Suri is a graduate of HTMi Switzerland, and has completed his MSc in Hospitality & Tourism Management awarded by Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland. Additionally, he has completed his BSc (Hons) in International Hotel & Tourism Management awarded by Ulster University, UK. He has over 7 years of experience working in various departments of Marriott brands (The Ritz Carlton, Le Royal Meridien and Renaissance), from front of house, front office, reservations and sales.’ Nishant has worked with the HTMi International Development Group in their African operations, working with diverse partnerships training trainers in general Hospitality operations.
Shoba Krishnan, BALecturer
Shoba is a BA graduate of Singapore University of Social Science. She has completed her degree in English with Psychology and has also attained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). She teaches the English Language to diploma and higher Diploma students of HTMi (Singapore). Shoba has extensive service experience with Singapore Airlines.
Joel H. Tan, MBAAdjunct Lecturer
Joel is a teacher and a member of the Academic Board for HTMi (Singapore). He is an MBA graduate from the University of Hull and B.Sc. (Hons) graduate from the Birmingham City University. He also has two graduate Diplomas in Marketing Management and Financial Management; as well as an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment. He has extensive working experience in China, South East Asia, and Taiwan. His teaching experiences cover many hospitality and management subjects at both Degree and Diploma level.
Ka Chong Lam, BAAdjunct Lecturer
Ka Chong is a highly experienced lecturer and specialises in the teaching of food and drink subjects. He graduated from Griffith University with BA of Communication in 2000 and also holds PG Cert in Learning and Teaching from East Asia institute of Management. Ka Chong has various work experience within the Food and Drinks industry in Singapore.
Deepa Shalini Chandran, BAAdjunct Lecturer
Deepa Shalini Chandran is a graduate from the University of Nottingham Trent and holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Communications. Her diverse experience of working in the corporate and hospitality industry has helped her develop strong interpersonal skills and brand knowledge of Hospitality operations. Deepa currently teaches the Fundamentals of Hospitality Operations and Gastronomy Food Services modules in HTMi (Singapore). Deepa has an extensive front line customer experiences working for Malaysia Airlines, IATA and the Swiss Garden Group in Malaysia.
