Moe Thura Khant from Myanmar shares his experience at HTMi (Singapore)

Hi! My name is Moe Thura Khant. I am from Myanmar.

My stay in Singapore has been a great experience so far. Although the weather is very hot and the recent presence of the haze, I feel that Singapore is a very vibrant city due to the people and the environment. The amazing foods have also caught my attention. Especially those famous local dishes such as Hainanese chicken rice, Singapore chili crab and many more.

As for the facilities in HTMi (Singapore), it is very spacious and has a warm welcoming atmosphere. When I first arrived, the airport pickup had made my arrival here much more convenient. The orientation that was conducted during the first two days has helped me gain more knowledge about my classmates and the institute itself. The lecturers and everyone else have helped me settle down comfortably, especially giving me proper guidance in my academics. The past few weeks have been vigorous but I strongly believe that it will help me in my future. Overall, my experience in HTMi (Singapore) and my stay here have been both a satisfying and enjoyable one, thus far!


Interview with Shannon Phua (HTMi Graduate) on her experience of HTMi

Anthony Lack sits down with Shannon Phua, graduated student of BSc and MiT to talk about her experience at HTMi Switzerland and Singapore and also her future endeavours.


2017 Entrepreneurship Award – Vinoth Prakas

Normally HTMi presents all awards at the Graduation and Awards Ceremony, however today’s recipient cannot be at the ceremony as he is getting married at that time.

HTMi congratulates Vinoth Prakas, HTMi Group Director of Diplomatic Relations and Director HTMi (Singapore), on achieving the rare Entrepreneurship Award in 2017. This award is only granted in very rare cases where an individual connected with HTMi shows an outstanding and significant contribution to the success of HTMi, under very difficult and challenging circumstances involving a lot of personal dedication, creativity and results.

In 2017, we have no hesitation in presenting this award to Vinoth, who has been the key to building up our Singapore Institute, achieving our local and international recruitment license there, smoothing our path internationally to have strong diplomatic relations with Governments globally, acquiring large projects both Government and private to lift HTMi brand in the Oceanic, Asian, and African continents.

All of this high achievement is in the face of strong competition, and requiring high personal dedication. In addition to securing a large training Government training contract to support the booming Vietnamese hotel and tourism industry, Vinoth also secured a very valuable contract with Mulpha Australia to have HTMi courses in 3 cities to start with, and more to follow.

Vinoth is a true entrepreneur, and we are very proud of him, and very excited to see what he does in the coming years for HTMi. We also extend our best wishes and happiness to him and fiancée on their upcoming marriage.

Hi everyone,

I am so happy to welcome you to HTMi , my alumni school, in Singapore. I spent some very happy years at HTMi in Switzerland, and gained so many great skills, personal development and above all my passion for success. I was then offered so many great work placement and then career opportunities in this wonderful hospitality and tourism industry. I have worked for some great employers including latterly Grand Park Orchard (Park Hotel Group), Marriott Hotel and St.Regis (Starwood Hotels) in Singapore. Then my fortune changed in a big way upwards as I entered the education part of the hospitality industry, with HTMi as Market Development Manager. Since then I have been traveling the world , and involved is so many exciting things, now back in my country launching HTMi (Singapore) . I am so excited now to help my country and fellow Singaporeans to be successful in the hospitality industry.

Ashwinnie graduated from HTMi Switzerland in 2015 with BSc (Hons) International Hotel and Tourism Management, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Hotel and Events Management. Cindy graduated from HTMi Switzerland in 2014 with BSc (Hons) International Hotel and Tourism Management, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Hotel and Events Management. She is also a graduate from Temasek Polytechnic Singapore with a Diploma in Leisure and Resort Management. Cindy has held many positions in the hospitality industry: Catering Sales Executive Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay; Management Trainee Peking Garden for guest service in food and beverage, Zurich Switzerland; Trainee, food and beverage services at Das Hotel Sherlock Holmes Meiringen, Switzerland; Star Guide, Universal Studios Singapore; Assistant Stage Management Universal Studios Singapore; Banquet Server Pan Pacific Hotel.
